1. Client-Side Media Processing (Zero Server Uploads)
Unlike traditional online editors or cloud-based AI inpainting tools, Gemini Watermark Remover runs entirely inside your client browser. When you select, drag, or drop an image (PNG, JPG, WebP) or video (MP4, WebM, MOV) into the application:
- No Server Transmission: Your media files are loaded directly into your browser's local memory via the HTML5 File and Blob APIs. They are never uploaded to our servers, third-party clouds, or external storage buckets.
- Local GPU Acceleration: Frame decoding, mathematical alpha-channel calculations, and video re-encoding are executed directly on your device utilizing
HTML5 Canvas,OffscreenCanvas, andWebCodecshardware acceleration. - Immediate Discard: When you refresh the webpage, switch tabs, or close your browser, all processed frames and temporary memory buffers are instantly purged by your device's garbage collector.
2. Information We Collect
We do not require you to register an account, log in, or provide any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to use Gemini Watermark Remover. The only data processed is:
- Log Data & Server Metrics: When accessing our static site hosted on GitHub Pages (or our CDN providers), standard web server access logs are recorded automatically (such as internet protocol (IP) address, browser user-agent, operating system, referring/exit URLs, date/time stamps, and ISP) for technical diagnostic, abuse prevention, and infrastructure reliability purposes.
- Local Browser Preferences: We use HTML5
sessionStoragesolely to remember which panel tab you have selected (Image Remover vs. Video Remover) for the duration of your browser session. This data never leaves your device. - Voluntary Communications: If you reach out to us by email or through the contact form, we receive the details you deliberately submit so we can assist you.
4. Third-Party Services
The core image and video processing does not require an account, upload endpoint, or advertising network. The site may load interface assets such as fonts and icons from external CDNs. If you choose to support the project, you will be redirected to PayPal and will be subject to PayPal's privacy policy and terms.
No media file selected for processing is sent to this project by the watermark-removal engine.
5. GDPR Compliance (European Economic Area Rights)
For visitors residing within the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, your data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) include:
- The Right to Access: You have the right to request copies of any personal data we hold about you.
- The Right to Rectification: You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate.
- The Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You have the right to request that we erase your personal data under certain conditions.
- The Right to Restrict Processing: You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data under certain conditions.
- The Right to Object to Processing: You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data.
- The Right to Data Portability: You have the right to request the transfer of your data to another organization.
Because we do not collect personal identities, account profiles, or media files, we generally hold zero personal data about individual users. If you submit a request, we will respond within one month.
6. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents are entitled to specific privacy rights:
- Right to Know: You may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected.
- Right to Delete: You may request deletion of any personal information collected from you.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: We do not sell personal information. We do not rent, trade, or monetize your personal information or media files.
- Non-Discrimination: You will not receive discriminatory treatment from us for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
7. Children's Online Privacy Protection (COPPA)
Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important to us. Gemini Watermark Remover is not structured or directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect or solicit personal identifiable information from children under 13.
If a parent or guardian believes that a child under the age of 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately, and we will promptly delete such information from our records.
8. Data Retention & Security
We employ standard security protocols, including HTTPS (SSL/TLS encryption) across all pages of the site, ensuring all traffic between your browser and our hosting CDN is encrypted in transit. Since all video frame extraction and image alpha unblending occur locally inside your client sandbox, your data is inherently protected from intercepted transmissions and unauthorized server access.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in legal regulations, browser APIs, or the services used by the project. When changes occur, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we safeguard your privacy.
